An interactive 3D map of the universe

Cosmoscope is a free, interactive map of the universe you can fly through in your browser. It shows the universe in 3D and at true scale — from a live, correctly sunlit Earth out past the planets, the deep-space probes, the comets and asteroids, and on beyond the Milky Way — all in one continuous zoom, built entirely on real astronomical data.

Nothing here is invented for effect. Every planet, moon, spacecraft and galaxy sits at its real position, updated in real time, so the distances between them are honest — including the enormous empty gaps that most maps of the universe quietly leave out.

What you can explore

A map of the universe in real time

Positions come from JPL-derived ephemeris and live orbital elements, not from a fixed illustration. Click any object to fly to it and read its current distance from Earth, the light-travel time to reach it, and how fast it is moving. A time control scrubs from the past into the future, or pins everything to real time.

Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom. Over 100,000 real stars, thousands of tracked satellites, and the Milky Way itself are all in there, to scale.
